Thursday afternoon at the Green Valley Hospital Emergency Dep’t. No, it’s not life-threatening, yes it is a bit of a bloody mess. Jim has an epic nosebleed. It’s a common side effect of the chemo cocktail he takes.
It may take a while to see a doctor. Nachos and margaritas will have to wait.

Best [potential!] profile picture I have seen in a long time! He did warn us that this stuff was called something like “I run to the can.” He just didn’t realize is was going to be his NOSE than was running. The clamp is a great color for him – really brings out his lovely eyes. 🙂

Was there a side effect with your middle finger, right hand? Looks like it is locked in a rigid position….. Lloyds chemo cocktail doesn’t have such unusual side effects. He has only lost his hair and about 45#s. Has his 2nd. Chemo treatment tomorrow morning. Hasn’t been as bad as I expected, having lived thru my fathers Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and my first husbands cancer treatments. Take care and keep your sense of humor, Jim. Well damn!!!! You deserve a big glass of a nice red.Hope the ER wait isn’t too long. At least it is nice to know that you are not urgent enough to bring them running. Will have to bring some gauze and a clothespin on Saturday.

I’m sorry about the nose bleed but that new nose ring you are wearing is very trendy! Most of them go into the septum and hang down. Your’s on the other hand goes through the whole nose and sticks straight up! You might be onto something for a new line of jewelry. 🙂

Ernie has SO much sympathy for you. He has his own personal “torture clothespin” for when the severe nosebleeds hit. He absolutely hates it when he has to put that on his nose. He even whined to the ENT that it really hurt and the doctor just laughed at him and told to get over it and wear it when he needed to. So, next time, just come next door to the Lopez ER!!!!

Thanks, Lynn. They did a good job at the ER and he will see the ENT on Monday. In the mean time, he has a packed nose so the clot will stay in place. Not exactly fashionable, but it works. Enjoy that gorgeous lake for us!

Love the “finger” photo, Jim–a sign of your fierce attitude wrapped in a great sense of humor. Last week I visited a side altar in a Ravenna Italy church dedicated to “Our Lady of Tumors.” Sent her a couple of prayers. So hang in there; I’m told she has pull.
